Looks like Twitter just lost its point outside the USA, Canada and India. No more SMS delivery means that it's now effectively write-only as far as most people are concerned. A shame, because I liked being distracted by random bits of people's days, especially as a means of expanding the festival experience. On the other hand, I still can't work out how it can possibly be making any money at all, so I'm more surprised that it's viable in some countries than that it's not viable in others...

Ah well, it was fun while it lasted, I guess those who hate LiveTwitters will be happier, and I'm sure something similar but worse will be along shortly.
