Had one-to-one today with boss. Still have a job.



Celebrated by web-surfing for the rest of the day. Justify this because the reason why this is my favorite permanent job to date is that the work is undemanding and I have lots of time for net-surfing.

This should mark an end to work-related posts, and an increase in posts themselves, now that I can relax. At least, until our next meeting at the end of the month to decide whether my probationary period should end...

A discussion at work today about the plural of 'mongoose' posed an unexpected dilema: when the pub quiz machine at The Duke of York says 'mongeese' but Salman Rushdie says 'mongooses', who do you trust?

Current site: The True Meaning of Life. Fuck me! Could this be a first? I clicked a banner ad (to support Portal of Evil, because I like them) only to find that it lead to site I actually enjoyed! A diverse selection of characters answer any question supplicants care to pose, on topics from the failure of capitalism to love, from singing like Thom Yorke to the release of desire. I find it inexplicably charming, but, as ever, Your Mileage May Vary.
